Mario Bros crochet bookmark

Hello dear readers!

Welcome back to the Little Craftisan blog!

My eldest is going through a Mario phase (thanks to Nintendo Switch game Bowser’s Fury)

Here's the story:

I was going to make him a 3D piranha plant plush toy but found an ace little piranha plant torch instead. Saves me time making that!!

So, in keeping with the bedtime reading theme, I decided to make him a piranha plant bookmark.

First came the pipe, which I love as I had so many shades of green which I could use! Yay!

Then I made the piranha head. I decided to appliqué the lips on top of the red head so that I wouldn’t see the change on colour as that’s always unsightly going from a strong colour like red to white.

I’m just going to work on the leaves and stem and it’s done. The crochet pattern will be in the next post!
